INSPIRED BY THE CORSICAN HERITAGE
Corsica has a long agricultural history. Life on the farm was hard and people had to rely on their tools. The Shepherd's Knife was the knife among farmers and is now considered paternal heritage. On his 10th birthday, a boy receives his first knife from his father. This marks his transition to adulthood. A tradition that is passed on from generation to generation.
TA MOKO SHARK TEETH
The set consists of four robust steak knives, each with a unique and recognizable pattern. Natural wood provides an authentic look - no two knives are the same. To embrace this authenticity, each knife has its own Polynesian-inspired tattoo, designed by Henk Schiffmacher himself. Four different tattoos but each knife has a set of shark teeth in its sharp blade. “Tattoos have their origins in Polynesia. The Polynesians wear their tattoos symbolically.
One of these tattoos is the niho mano, or shark teeth. According to the Polynesians, sharks are divine ancestors and symbolize strength. Sharks use their teeth to easily tear through their prey The sharp steak knives embody this beautiful symbolism, as they cut straight through the meat."
